The “Kids Puzzle Cubes” project, featured in the "Communication" exhibition at the State Darwin Museum in Moscow, brings together the worlds of play and education. Created in 2007, this interactive exhibit allowed museum-goers to engage with oversized wooden blocks reminiscent of children’s building cubes, each side adorned with intricate illustrations of animals.
Each cube was meticulously hand-painted using markers and acrylics, transforming these simple blocks into tools for learning. The project highlights the biodiversity of wildlife, encouraging children and adults alike to explore and piece together the illustrations to form various animals. This hands-on approach aligns with the Darwin Museum’s mission of educating the public about the natural world, while the playful design ensures that learning feels interactive and enjoyable.
This project emphasizes the importance of tactile learning in education, while also showcasing the power of art to engage the public in conversations about wildlife conservation. The vivid, detailed artwork captures the beauty of nature, while the oversized cubes create a sense of immersion that extends beyond the typical museum experience.
